On the afternoon of July 18, the first online academic salon of ‘Journal of Cyber Security’—‘In-depth Forgery Identification and Defense’ academic conference was successfully held. This event was jointly hosted by the State Key Laboratory of Information Security and the editorial department of ‘Journal of Cyber Security’ and organized by the Laboratory of Cyberspace Technology. The conference invited researcher Tao Jianhua from the Institute of Automation, CAS, professor Lu Zheming from Zhejiang University, associate researcher Wang Wei from the Institute of Automation, CAS, senior engineer Dai Jiao from the Institute of Information Engineering, CAS, and Dr. Wang Yan, a senior algorithm expert from the Security Department of Alibaba Group. They engaged in academic discussion related to generation, identification and defense of deep forgery.
The event was presided over by senior engineer Han Jizhong, director of the fifth Engineering Department. Director Meng Dan, also as executive editor of ‘Journal of Cyber Security’, delivered a speech. He said the journal was not only a channel for scientific researchers to publish scientific achievements, but also a link to connect scientific institutions and enterprises. The salon shall continue inviting more domain experts and influential companies to enrich the event form and build a brand academic event in the field of cyberspace security. Researcher Chen Kai, editorial director of ‘Journal of Cyber Security’, introduced the journal’s development in the four years since its inception in 2016. With the trust and support of the editorial board and many experts, ‘Journal of Cyber Security’ has become the CCF journal, been listed as Recommended Chinese journals-Category B (excellent Journals) and been indexed by CSCD, The key magazine of China technology, and Scopus. The journal will adhere to its original aspirations and become a high-level academic journal in the field of cyberspace security.
The event was broadcast live at bilibili and the Tencent Meeting. According to statistics, the peak number of audience was 2,505 at bilibili and 181 at Tencent Meeting. The conference room at Tencent Meeting was full during the whole time (300 people).
The first online event of ‘Journal of Cyber Security’ was aimed to establish a communication platform for researchers and enterprises, promote the industrialization of scientific results. Meanwhile, such kind of event can let more industries pay attention to the latest progress of academic research and promote the cooperation between scientific research and industry. In the future, ‘Journal of Cyber Security’ will continue to organize more themed academic salons and invite more scientific institutions, universities and influential enterprises to jointly build a brand academic event of cyberspace security.
